Legally, you have the right to choose what repair shop you take your vehicle to for repairs. It starts as soon as you report your claim. Immediately let your insurance know what shop you plan on taking your vehicle to. Your insurance is obligated to cover the reasonable costs of repairing your vehicle back to its condition before the accident no matter where the repairs are done.
If your vehicle cannot be safely driven, your insurance company must inspect the vehicle within 5 business days from the date you make the claim. If your vehicle can be safely driven, your insurance company must complete the inspection within 15 days from the date you file your claim.
Misrepresenting the cost of repairs constitutes fraud. Spraymaster will never change the cost of repairs to help you cover the cost of your deductible.
Your insurance is required to pay for original equipment parts (parts made by your vehicle’s manufacturer) unless you agree to aftermarket parts (parts not made by your vehicles manufacturer). Keep in mind your insurance company is only responsible for restoring your vehicle to the state it was BEFORE the damages. If your vehicle is old, your insurance does not have to pay for original equipment parts and will instead pay for parts of like kind and quality (parts of comparable age and condition). If you request new original equipment parts for your old vehicle you would be responsible to pay for the difference in cost.
Average collision repair is 4-5 working days. However there are multiple factors that affect the amount of time required for repairs. Once we have completely the disassembly process and accurately assess damages, we will more accurately inform you how long repairs will take. Also keep in mind the number of vehicles at the shop at one time. We are not able to dictate how many vehicles are in the shop for repair at any given time as accidents happen unexpectedly.
We avoid giving estimates over the phone even if you have provided us with pictures of your vehicle’s damages. The main reason is to ensure accuracy and customer satisfaction. We cannot fully assess damages until we disassemble your vehicle and determine the full scope of damages. Descriptions over the phone and pictures of your vehicle only show us aesthetic damages. If we quote you a certain amount and the damages are more severe once your vehicle is in the shop, you would be one unhappy customer. Please understand it is more efficient to bring your vehicle in the shop for a better estimate.
